About Elastomers Queensland
Australian-made cast polyurethane manufacturer since 1979. Based in Clontarf, Brisbane — serving mining, agriculture, marine, and general industry across Australia.

Our Story
Elastomers Queensland was founded in 1979 and has operated from its Clontarf, Queensland facility ever since. [CLIENT_FOUNDERS_TBD] established the business with a clear purpose: to manufacture cast polyurethane products from raw materials in Queensland, providing Australian industry with a local alternative to imported components and off-the-shelf products that did not meet the performance requirements of harsh Australian industrial environments.
The business has remained family-owned across its entire history. Over 45 years, the product range, the equipment, and the team have grown significantly — but the fundamental approach has not changed. We manufacture from raw polyurethane materials. We control the formulation, the process, and the quality. We take on custom work of any complexity. And we stand behind what we make.
The mining industry became one of our primary markets early in our history, and the FRAS certification requirements that emerged as underground mining safety regulations developed meant that we invested in the testing, documentation, and formulation management required to serve underground mining applications. Today, our FRAS capability is one of the features that distinguishes us — and our Brisbane location distinguishes us further, as the only FRAS polyurethane manufacturer based in South-East Queensland.
Our Facility
Our facility at 40 Tubbs Street, Clontarf QLD 4019 houses a full manufacturing operation across polyurethane casting, CNC machining, and metal fabrication.
The polyurethane casting area operates 4 dispensing machines, allowing us to run multiple formulations and pour sizes simultaneously. Our formulation range covers 40A through 80D in polyether and polyester chemistry grades, including FRAS-certified formulations for underground mining.
The machining workshop operates CNC lathes and machining centres for tooling manufacture and component finishing. Our SolidWorks and OneCNC software links design directly to machine code, reducing programming time and programming errors. The fabrication workshop provides MIG, TIG, and spot welding, press brake bending, rolling, CNC punching, and sandblasting — a full set of sheet metal and structural fabrication capabilities.
All processes are carried out under one roof. This means the design, tooling, casting, machining, and fabrication work for a composite polyurethane-and-steel component is co-ordinated by a single team, with short communication loops between processes and no transport between subcontractors introducing delay or damage risk.

Why Choose Elastomers Queensland
There are several polyurethane suppliers in Australia. Here is why customers choose us and come back:
Manufacturer since 1979 — we cast from raw polyurethane, not buy and resell
The only Brisbane-based FRAS polyurethane manufacturer — faster supply for SEQ mine sites
No minimum order quantity — single prototypes quoted and manufactured
Full hardness range 40 Shore A to 80 Shore D from a single supplier
In-house SolidWorks CAD, tooling manufacture, CNC machining, and welding
FRAS certified with MDG3608 documentation maintained for underground mining compliance
Refurbishment service — re-line worn wheels and pulleys for 30–50% cost saving
Australian Made — What It Actually Means
"Australian Made" is used loosely in many industries. For Elastomers Queensland, it is specific: we purchase raw polyurethane chemicals from suppliers, mix them in our facility, cast them in our moulds on our equipment, machine them on our CNC equipment, and fabricate any steel components in our workshop. The entire manufacturing chain from raw material to finished component occurs in Clontarf, Queensland.
We do not purchase finished polyurethane components from overseas and relabel them. We do not have components manufactured offshore and assemble them locally. What we describe as Australian Made is genuinely manufactured here.
This matters for FRAS compliance (the manufacturing location is part of the certification chain), for supply reliability (there is no ocean freight in our supply chain), and for the confidence of customers who need to know where their components were made.
