Polyurethane Agricultural Components
Wheels, rollers, and custom parts for harvesters, processing equipment, and agricultural machinery.

Agriculture is one of the most demanding environments for material components. Machinery operates in dust, mud, rock, and abrasive crop residues — often without the opportunity for planned maintenance stops that factory environments allow. Elastomers Queensland manufactures polyurethane components for agricultural machinery that hold up in these conditions.
Our agricultural customers include sugar cane harvesting operations, grain processing facilities, fruit and vegetable processing plants, and farming equipment manufacturers. The common requirement across all of these is components that last longer than rubber, resist the field conditions that destroy nylon, and can be manufactured to the specific dimensions of each application.
Agricultural Wheels and Rollers
Polyurethane wheels for agricultural applications need to balance two properties that often pull in opposite directions: durability and gentleness. Drive wheels on harvesting equipment need to be hard enough to transmit torque and resist wear; but idler rollers on produce handling equipment need to be soft enough not to bruise fruit or damage grain.
We manufacture agricultural wheels and rollers across the full hardness range. Harder formulations (70A–60D) suit drive wheels, conveyor drive rollers, and components that must resist wear in abrasive field conditions. Softer formulations (40A–60A) suit produce handling rollers, pinch rollers on harvesting equipment, and any application where contact with the crop must be non-damaging.
Custom wheel dimensions are our standard service — agricultural equipment is rarely standardised, and replacement wheels are frequently required in dimensions that are not available off the shelf. We manufacture to drawing or from a worn original.
Harvesting Equipment Components
Sugar cane harvesters are one of Queensland's primary agricultural applications for polyurethane. The chopper rollers, base cutter components, and elevator rollers operate in abrasive, wet, and corrosive conditions through the harvesting season. Polyurethane provides the abrasion resistance and impact tolerance that keeps these components in service through a full harvest season.
Grain harvesting equipment — headers and combine harvesters — uses polyurethane for threshing drum components, straw walker rollers, and elevator components. The abrasive nature of grain and chaff combined with the seasonal intensity of harvest operations demands components with service lives measured in seasons, not weeks.
Processing Equipment Wear Parts
Agricultural processing — from fruit packing sheds to grain elevators and sugar mills — involves conveyors, sorters, and processing machinery that operate continuously during season. Wear liners, drive rollers, idler rollers, and custom moulded components are all applications where polyurethane outperforms rubber and engineering plastics in processing conditions.
We work with equipment manufacturers and processing facility maintenance teams to design and manufacture custom components. If you have a wear part that fails repeatedly in season, contact us to discuss a polyurethane solution.
