A conveyor system is only as reliable as its worst-maintained component. Belt scrapers that do not clean the belt carry material back to the tail pulley, creating build-up that accelerates belt wear and misalignment. Skirting that fails allows material to spill, creating housekeeping problems and regulatory compliance issues. Hungry boards that wear through allow belt sag between idlers at loading points.

Belt Scrapers

Belt scrapers keep the carry side of a conveyor belt clean as it returns from the discharge point. A scraper that maintains consistent contact with the belt surface prevents the carryback that builds up on return idlers and drive components, extends belt life, and reduces housekeeping requirements.

Polyurethane scrapers maintain their contact profile longer than rubber, are less likely to damage the belt surface, and resist the abrasion of ore fines that rapidly wears rubber scraper blades. We manufacture scraper blades to fit standard scraper frames and to custom specifications.

Conveyor Skirting

Skirting seals the space between the belt and the conveyor structure at loading zones and transfer points, preventing material spillage. Polyurethane skirting provides a longer-wearing contact surface than rubber, maintaining the seal for more tonnes conveyed before replacement is required.

We manufacture skirting in standard profiles and to custom cross-sections for specific conveyor configurations.

Hungry Boards

Hungry boards (also called idler support pads or belt support pads) support the conveyor belt between idlers at high-load loading zones, preventing sag that allows material to spill past the skirting. Correctly specified polyurethane hungry boards compress under belt load and recover when the load moves on, maintaining consistent belt support through the full loading zone.

We manufacture hungry boards in hardness grades matched to the belt width, load intensity, and idler spacing of each application. FRAS grade is available for underground applications.
